Frequently Asked Questions
What hours is UBP open to the public?
UBP is open to adults and children accompanied by a parent or guardian on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM for Open Shop. Unaccompanied youth may attend our Youth-Only Open Shop & Earn-A-Bike Program on Wednesday nights from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM (permission slip required). Check our Calendar for holiday and weather-related closings.
When is the next repair class going to be scheduled?
We typically hold repair classes in the Spring & Fall. Check our calendar for upcoming dates or sign up for our e-mail list to be automatically notified when classes are announced.
I have a bike to donate, when/where can I do that?
Donations can be dropped off during Open Shop hours. Please bring bikes inside the building so that they get logged in and we can provide you with a receipt. If you have multiple bikes or need assistance come inside first and a volunteer will help.
Can you come pick up my bike donation?
We might be able to but greatly prefer donations to be dropped off at our shop if at all possible. Email us to see if a volunteer is available to make a pickup. The following information is helpful: Name, phone number, address where bicycles are located, description and the number of bicycles (i.e. 2 kids bikes and 1 adult road bike in ride-able condition).
I know someone that needs a free bike or free help fixing up their bike, what assistance can UBP offer?
Do you sell used bikes?
Do you have the (brand/type/size) bike I’m looking for?
Please visit our Open Shop program as the selection of bikes is always changing. We are not typically able to answer this question by email.
Can UBP attend my community event?
We’d love to! Email the details of your event and how you would like UBP to be involved. We’ll double-check that the event is a good fit for us and that we have volunteers or staff available to attend.
