Paul Waters is a lifelong Wilmington resident – he grew up in the East Side’s Compton Townhomes just down the street from Urban Bike Project, and currently lives on the West Side. Paul learned problem solving and construction skills as a Challenge Program trainee, and gained experience working with youth and nonprofits as a farmer for Point Lookout Farm, an educational farm outside of Chadd’s Ford, PA. He was first drawn to Point Lookout Farm for the opportunity to experience something different and outside of Wilmington’s urban environment.
Paul Waters has been Urban Bike Project’s Shop Manager since April of 2016. He believes that access to bicycling as affordable transportation can transform the lives of Wilmington’s residents, especially those with limited access to resources. “People need to move, [you] can’t be stationary. If you’re stationary, a lot of people just get in trouble, feeling hopeless. You got a bike, you know you can get somewhere.”
In addition to his work with Urban Bike Project, Paul is interested in addressing homelessness in the city.
