Stephen Horgan, dubbed Wilmington’s beloved bon vivant by the many who had the pleasure of knowing him, was an avid cyclist and traveller. From 2007 to 2014, he only missed one Bike to the Bay (totaling 8 years) and built many lasting friendships through a shared passion for cycling.
When he wasn’t riding his bike, traveling the world, or cheerfully wearing out his welcome at Wilmington Wine Company, Stephen Horgan ran Movable Feast. His business was and is more than just a catering company – it’s a gathering place for Wednesday night showcase dinners, everyday low-key lunches, and lingering snow-day meet-ups. Ever generous with his time, his space, and himself, Stephen was deeply committed to Wilmington and its residents, hiring local whenever possible and often supporting his employees through small gestures of generosity.
Stephen shared many of Urban Bike Project’s passions – for cycling and the outdoors, for touching lives in small ways, for building community through welcoming places to gather. In life, Stephen supported Urban Bike Project by donating his catering services to our events. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that you please consider honoring Stephen’s memory through a gift to Urban Bike Project’s Stephen Horgan Memorial Fund.
