Womxn Bike Wilmington

Womxn Bike Wilmington is a new program that creates accessible space for women and female-identifying residents to learn how to bike, hone their skills, and create positive peer connections. Women have statistically lower participation rates in cycling and active transportation, despite the many benefits of riding to health and happiness. Whether you are a first time rider or a seasoned cyclist, Womxn Bike Wilmington offers a variety of services to help you build confidence in your skills and meet other ladies who cycle. Womxn Bike Wilmington services include:

  • Social rides
  • Mechanics classes, bike fitting, and skills workshops
  • Social media platform where women can network, share rides, ask questions, and more!

Brunch Ride at Open Streets Wilmington
When: Saturday, September 18, 9:00am – 11:30am
Where: Highlands Elementary School (Gilpin Ave side)
Cost: FREE!

Womxn Bike Wilmington is joining forces with Open Streets Wilmington for a relaxing 6.5 mile social ride, beginners welcomed and encouraged! Open Streets Wilmington is a collaborative initiative of 12 organizations and agencies. Open Streets Wilmington events close down streets once a month in rotating neighborhoods throughout the city to create space for residents and visitors to walk, bike and play in the streets. This month, Open Streets is taking over Delaware Ave! The ride route will utilize the Delaware Ave street closure as well as low-traffic neighborhood roads and paved paths. We’ll end in Trolley Square for outdoor brunch. No registration necessary!
